Sea Hare
(Berghia sp.)
Aplysia Sea Hare should be added to well established aquariums with plenty of rockwork for grazing. Aplysia Sea Hare require a constant supply of algae's. If insufficient algae's are available, be sure to provide dried algae such as Nori or vegetable based pellets. Invertebrates do not tolerate copper medications or poor water conditions. Aplysia Sea Hare are quite peaceful and considered to be reef safe but should only be maintained by experts.
Sea Hare may release a toxic ink if it becomes startled. Be sure to run carbon to filter any toxins. Occasionally seen in the aquarium trade. Sea Hare range in color depending on what they are eating. Sea Hare that eat green algae's may have more of a green color while Sea Hare that eat red algae's may appear more maroon color. Sea Hare can grow to almost 8".
