Mottled Sea Hare

Aplysia Sea Hare should be added to well established aquariums with plenty of rockwork for grazing. Aplysia Sea Hare require a constant supply of algae's. If insufficient algae's are available, be sure to provide dried algae such as Nori or vegetable based pellets. Invertebrates do not tolerate copper medications or poor water conditions. Aplysia Sea Hare are quite peaceful and considered to be reef safe but should only be maintained by experts.

The Mottled Sea Hare is also known as the Brazilian Sea Hare. Mottled Sea Hare may release a toxic ink if it becomes startled. Be sure to run carbon to filter any toxins. Occasionally seen in the aquarium trade. Brazilian Sea Hare will vary greatly in color and mottling ranging from light yellow, brown, gray, green or even black. They have also been seen having dark or black streaks or thin lines. Brazilian Sea Hare can grow to almost 11".
