Atlantic Stingray

Dasyatis Stingrays should be added to very large aquariums with wide open swim areas and a good filter system. Stingrays also require a fine sand bed as they may partially bury themselves in the sand, concealing themselves from predators. Stingrays are sensitive to copper, do not treat aquarium with copper products. Provide Stingrays with a diet rich in meaty based foods. They are social among their own species. Ensure a tight fitting lid as Stingrays may jump.

Atlantic Stingray are not often seen in the aquarium trade. Atlantic Stingray are generally a brown to yellow with a white colored belly. Atlantic Stingrays can grow to a little over 24" but more commonly seen at 11".

We recommend a minimum aquarium size of 100 gallons or larger for this species.
