Whitenose Pipefish
(Cosmocampus albirostris)
Pipefish are closely related to Shrimpfish, Seahorses and Dragonets. Pipefish should be added to aquariums with plenty of rockwork with caves, cracks, crevices and ledges large enough to hide in. Cosmocampus Pipefish may not eat immediately try feeding live enriched adult Brine Shrimp. Over time they should begin to accept frozen Brine, Mysis and Krill fed at least two times daily. Pipefish are slow swimmers and require slow water movement. Any filtration intakes should be equipped with strainers. They will require peaceful tank mates as they are shy fish. Whitenose Pipefish are not often seen Pipefish in the aquarium trade. Whitenose Pipefish have a white to brown color with wide dark brown strips. Whitenose Pipefish can grow to almost 8".
We recommend a minimum aquarium size of 50 gallons or larger for this species.
