Carangoides Jacks grow quite large and should only be added to very large aquariums preferably zoos or public aquariums. They are very active, strong fish that will bully other tank mates. Provide wide open swim areas with minimal rockwork. Jacks are often found near sandy, muddy bottom regions. Jacks are schooling predatory fish that feed on sedentary or slow moving crustaceans, and fish. Juveniles are sometimes seen in brackish water. There are marked color differences between juveniles and adults.

Coastal Trevally are also sometimes known as the Japanese or Diverse Trevally. Not often seen in the aquarium trade. Coastal Trevally are generally a blue green color with a light gray belly, small yellow spots and large black spot on its opercula, and yellow pectoral fines with a light gray pelvic fin. Coastal Trevally can grow to almost 16".
