Monster Shrimp Goby

(Tomiyamichthys oni)

Tomiyamichthys Gobies should be added to well established aquariums. Plenty of stable rock work, cracks, crevices and caves should be provided for hiding. Provide a deep sand bed as they are a good sand sifter hovering over the sand picking up mouths of sand looking for small invertebrates and organic matter. Tomiyamichtys Gobies are small and fit well in most reef aquariums. A diet of meaty and algae based foods should be provided as often as possible but at least four times daily. Tomiyamichthys Gobies tend to be shy house with other peaceful tank mates. They prefer to live singly or in pairs as they may become aggressive to other Goby species. Provide a tight fitting aquarium as Gobies may jump. Tomiyamichthys Gobies will develop a symbiotic relationship with Shrimp.

Monster Shrimp Goby are also sometimes known simply as the Tomiyama Shrimp Goby. Rarely seen in the aquarium trade. Monster Shrimp Gobies have a white body with light brown spots. Monster Shrimp Gobies can grow to a little over 4".

We recommend a minimum aquarium size of 30 gallons or larger for this species.
