Court Jester Goby

(Koumansetta rainfordi)

Amblygobius Gobies are also known as sand sifting Gobies. They are hardy, excellent beginner fish but should not be housed with more aggressive fish. Sand sifting Gobies should be housed singly but a mated pair may be successfully housed together. Typically found near sandy, muddy reef areas provide an aquarium with plenty of sand and rock work. Sand sifting Gobies are reef safe but may pick at small crustaceans. Feed an omnivorous diet with plenty of meaty and algae based foods multiple times daily. If not readily eating try a diet of fortified live Brine shrimp or black worms. Provide an aquarium with a tight fitting lid as they may jump.

Court Jester Goby are also sometimes known as the Old Glory Goby. Occasionally seen in the aquarium trade. The Court Jester Goby is mainly white to dark tan, thin red to orange stripes and a black eyespot on its dorsal and caudal peduncle. Court Jester Goby can grow to almost 3".
