Guam Damselfish

(Pomachromis guamensis)

Pomachromis Damselfish should be added to well established aquariums with plenty of room to swim. Plenty of rock work with caves and crevices should be provided for grazing and hiding. Pomachromis Damselfish may pick at benthic invertebrates. A diet of meaty and algae based foods which include Spirulina should be provided several times daily. Groups of juveniles can be added to larger aquariums however, careful consideration will need to be given before adding to the aquarium as Pomachromis Damselfish become more aggressive and territorial to fish of the same genus or size as they mature.

The Guam Damselfish are not often seen in the aquarium trade. The Guam Damselfish is quite beautiful with their light blue to gray color with a unique latticed pattern on their side. Their dorsal, caudal peduncle and the outside of the tail fins are a bright yellow. They can grow to almost 2".

We recommend a minimum aquarium size of 30 gallons or larger for this species.

Water conditions: Salinity 1.020 - 1.025, Temp (F) 72 - 78, pH 8.1 - 8.4, Alkalinity 8 - 12 dKH
