Seven Striped Cardinalfish

Ostorhinchus Cardinalfish should be added to well established aquariums with plenty of room to swim. Plenty of rock work with caves and ledges should be provided for grazing and hiding. Most Ostorhinchus Cardinalfish are peaceful schooling fish but carefully research each species before adding to your aquarium. A diverse diet of enriched meaty foods should be provided for continued good health. Most Ostorhinchus Cardinalfish are active at night and rest during the day. Some Cardinalfish are mouth brooders research each species to ensure the appropriate care is given. They are slow methodical swimmers house with other peaceful tank mates.

The Seven Striped Cardinalfish is also known as the Nine Banded or Nine Lined Cardinalfish. Rarely seen in the aquarium trade. As the name suggests this fish has 7 white to brown stripes that run from its snout to the its caudal peduncle. Seven Striped Cardinalfish can grow to almost 4".

We recommend a minimum aquarium size of 30 gallons or larger for this species.
