Blue Dashed Rockskipper

(Blenniella periophthalmus)

Blenniella Blennies should be added to well established aquariums. Plenty of rock work should be provided for grazing and hiding. Blenniella Blennies have an incredible appetite for algae and may nip at SPS corals and Clam mantles while grazing. If a large supply of algae is not present be sure to add a steady supply for the health of Blennies. Blenniella Blenny's are peaceful, active and a great fish for any aquarium. Most Blennies lack or have very small swim bladders. Be sure to provide an aquarium with a tight fitting lid as Blennies may jump.

The Blue Dashed Rockskipper is also known as the False Mudskipper or Bullethead Rockskipper Blenny. This very interestingly colored fish is mainly a light colored fish with darker, wide stripes running vertically down its body, tiny red dots and a set of beautiful blue dashes running horizontally at the rear of the fish. Blue Dashed Rockskipper can grow to 6".

We recommend a minimum aquarium size of 70 gallons or larger for this species.
