Cave Basslet

Liopropoma Basslets should be added to well established aquariums with plenty of rockwork, deep caves and coral overhangs. Provide a diet of meaty enriched foods along with algae matter. Keep well fed with multiple feedings per day but do not overfeed. considered to be peaceful but can be aggressive towards inhabitants of its own kind. Avoid adding larger inhabitants to the aquarium as they may harass this shy fish. Lioproproma are considered to be gonochorists meaning they do not change sex. Liopropoma Basslets may jump provide an aquarium with a tight fitting lid.

The Cave Basslet is also known as the Ridgeback Basslet. Cave Basslets are rarely seen in the aquarium trade. They are quite colorful with its overall pink to orange coloration, black and white highlights in the caudal, second dorsal and pelvic fins, and yellow stripe that runs from the eye to the mouth. Cave Basslet can grow to 4".

We recommend a minimum aquarium size of 50 gallons or larger for this species.
