Orange Linckia Sea Star

(Linckia sp.)

Linckia Sea Stars are generally found in the Indo-Pacific region, including the Indian Ocean and the Pacific Ocean. They inhabit shallow reef environments and are typically found on coral reefs, rocky substrates, and other hard surfaces. Linckia Sea Stars are primarily detritivores and scavengers, feeding on organic debris, microorganisms, and other small particles they find on the substrate. If the Linckia Sea Star loses an arm, the arm has the potential to regenerate into a new starfish if the process is successful. Invertebrates do not tolerate copper medications and are sensitive to salinity changes.

The Linckia Sea Star is also known as the Orange Linckia Sea Star. Somewhat commonly seen in the aquarium trade. The Linckia Sea Star is a beautiful orange color. Linckia Sea Stars can grow to about 6".
