Sea Apple

(Pseudocolochirus sp.)

Pseudocolochirus Sea Cucumbers are typically found in tropical and subtropical marine environments. They inhabit sandy or muddy substrates in shallow coastal areas and can be found in intertidal zones, seagrass beds, and coral reefs. They are primarily detritivores, feeding on organic matter such as detritus, plankton, and small particles found in the sediment. They ingest sediment and extract nutrients from the organic material. Invertebrates do not tolerate copper medications and are sensitive to salinity changes.

Pseudocolochirus Cucumbers are also often known as Sea Apples or Red Clown Cucumbers. They are not often seen in the aquarium trade. Pseudocolochirus Cucumbers coloration can vary, but they are often shades of brown, red, or yellow. The coloration may depend on environmental conditions. They can grow up to 6".
