Redspot Wrasse

Pseudocoris Wrasse are known as Torpedo Wrasses due to the speed in which they navigate the aquarium. Provide an aquarium with ample swim room and rock work with plenty of crevices and caves for hiding and resting. Males tend to be more colorful and a bit larger than the females. Harems can be kept in the aquarium with 1 male and several females if added at the same time to a large enough aquarium. Pseudocoris are similar to Coris Wrasse but prefer consuming plankton out of the water column instead of the Benthic invertebrates the Coris Wrasse prefer. Feed a varied diet of plankton based foods multiple times daily. Wrasse are hermaphrodites meaning they start as juveniles/females but at some point in their life may turn into a male. Provide an aquarium with a tight fitting lid as Wrasse are jumpers.

The Redspot Wrasse are also sometimes known as the Pink, Japanese or Yamashiro's Wrasse. Not often seen in the aquarium trade. Males are a dark mottled color with light colored bellys. Females will have have thin blue stripes on their face. Redspot Wrasse can grow to a little over 6".

We recommend a minimum aquarium size of 50 gallons or larger for this species.
