Labropsis Wrasse should be added to well established aquariums with plenty of swim room. Plenty of rock work with overhangs, caves, cracks and crevices for hiding and grazing. Labropsis Wrasse will also need a deep sand bed. Although Labropsis Wrasse are considered peaceful they will pick at stony polyp corals, crustaceans, small marine fish and clam mantles. A diet of meaty foods should be provided to supplement Labropsis Wrasse diets. Juveniles, males and females will only exhibit slightly color differences. Wrasse are hermaphrodites meaning they start as juveniles/females but at some point, in their life may turn into a male. Wrasse will jump an aquarium with a tight-fitting lid should be provided. House with other peaceful tank mates. The Comet Wrasse are sometimes also known simply as the Wedge Tailed Wrasse. Rarely seen in the aquarium trade. Comet Wrasse are quite lovely with a black body, yellow dorsal, and thin white stripes that run from its snout to its tail. Comet Wrasse can grow to a little over 5".
We recommend a minimum aquarium size of 50 gallons or larger for this species.
