Flame Pygmy Goby
(Trimma macrophthalmum)
Trimma Gobies should be added to well established aquariums. Plenty of stable rock work, cracks, crevices and caves should be provided for hiding. Trimma Gobies are small and fit well in most reef aquariums. A diet of meaty and algae-based foods should be provided twice daily. Trimma Gobies tend to be shy house with other peaceful tank mates. They prefer to live singly or in pairs as they may become aggressive to other Goby species. Provide a tight-fitting aquarium as Gobies may jump. Flame Pygmy Goby are also sometimes known simply as the Large Eyed Pygmy Goby. Not often seen in the aquarium trade. Flame Pygmy Gobies are an overall gray color with red to orange spots on their head and body, yellow spots on their fins and 2 red spots on the base of their pectoral fins. Flame Pygmy Gobies can grow to a little over 1". We recommend a minimum aquarium size of 10 gallons or larger for this species. Water conditions: Salinity 1.020 – 1.025, Temp (F) 72 – 78, pH 8.1 – 8.4, Alkalinity 8 – 12 dKH
