Large Scale Leatherjacket

Cantheschenia Filefish should be added to well established aquariums with plenty of room to swim. Plenty of rock work with caves, cracks and crevices should be provided for grazing and hiding. Filefish are slow swimmers, an aquarium with low water flow is required. Feed a well balanced diet of marine meaty and algae based foods. Cantheschenia Filefish will pick at coral, algae, sponge, mollusks and sea urchins. Filefish are generally shy and secretive and should only be housed with other peaceful fish.

Large Scale Leatherjacket are not often seen in the aquarium trade. Large Scale Leatherjackets are colorful but variably colored. Overall yellow to gray colored with blue spots under its chin and a blue, yellow and black tail. Large Scale Leatherjacket can grow to a little over 10".

We recommend a minimum aquarium size of 75 gallons or larger for this species.
