Black Comb Tooth Blenny

Ecsenius Blennies are sometimes referred to as Clown Blennies. Blennies should be added to well established aquariums. Rock work should be provided for perching, hiding and grazing. Ecsenius Blennies are considered to be easy and peaceful however, can become aggressive to other fish resembling their shape. If sufficient algae is not present supplement with algae based foods and algae matter. Males tend to be larger than females. Most Blennies lack or have very small swim bladders. Be sure to provide an aquarium with a tight fitting lid as Blennies may jump.

The Black Comb Tooth Blenny is also known as the Namive's, Tribal or Yellowtail Black Blenny. Rarely seen in the aquarium trade. Black Comb Tooth Blennies are a dark brown to totally black body coloration with a small amount of white near its tail. Black Comb Tooth Blennies can grow to 4".

We recommend a minimum aquarium size of 30 gallons or larger for this species.
