Charlenae Anthias, Female

(Pseudanthias cf. charlenae)

Pseudanthias should be added to well-established aquariums with stable water conditions and peaceful tankmates. Plenty of open swimming space along with ample live rock for shelter should be provided, as this species is an active, mid-water planktivore that forms loose groups in the water column. Charlenae Anthias is not aggressive but may be intimidated by larger or boisterous tankmates. A diet of small, frequent feedings of high-quality marine meaty foods such as mysis shrimp, finely chopped seafood, copepods, and plankton-based preparations should be provided multiple times daily. Care should be taken when handling, as anthias are sensitive to stress; avoid using nets whenever possible and minimize air exposure. This species is best kept in small groups with a single dominant male or as a single specimen in smaller systems. Charlenae Anthias is prized for its vibrant coloration and graceful swimming behavior. Individuals typically display shades of pink, lavender, and yellow, with males showing more intense coloration. Coloration may vary between specimens. This anthias can grow to approximately 4–5". We recommend a minimum aquarium size of 75 gallons or larger for this species. Water conditions: Salinity 1.020 – 1.025, Temp (F) 72 – 78, pH 8.1 – 8.4, Alkalinity 8 – 12 dKH
