Gold Stripe Clove Polyp

(Clavularia sp. on Scleractinia)

Clove Polyps should be added to well established aquariums with gentle water flow and moderate to strong lighting. Generally found near upper reef slopes. Clove Polyps receive the majority of their nutrients from photosynthesis, additional feedings of planktonic foods will benefit their health. Clove Polyps do not tolerate copper medications. Clove Polyps are great for beginner hobbyists as they are easy to care for and propagate as well as being reef safe. Clove Polyps will spread out and reproduce easily, be sure to allow enough space between other corals. Corals will benefit from the addition of Calcium, Strontium, Iodine, Magnesium and Trace Elements.

Gold Stripe Clove Polyps may also be known as Palm Tree Clove or Fern Polyps. Commonly seen in the aquarium trade. The Gold Stripe Clove Polyp are generally quite beautiful with a range of colors. However this Clove Polyp is a lovely tan color accented with gold stripes. Gold Stripe Clove Polyps will vary greatly in size, when first being added to the aquarium they may appear to be shriveled small polyps but once acclimated and healthy will open up.
