Dwarf Seahorse
(Hippocampus zosterae)
Seahorses should be added to aquariums with plenty of rock work and plenty of swim room. Seahorses are slow swimmers, ensure the aquarium is free of anemones. Be sure to adjust waterflow for seahorses as they will require low waterflow. House Seahorses with other peaceful and slow-moving tank mates. Seahorses are able to change colors depending on their surroundings. Females will deposit their eggs into the males’ pouch, approximately 14 days later the male will give birth to tiny little Seahorse replicas. Feed a diet of enriched live juvenile Brine shrimp, frozen mysis and rotifers multiple times daily. Dwarf Seahorse are also sometimes known as Pygmy Seahorse. Occasionally seen in the aquarium trade. Dwarf Seahorse are seen with varying colors usually depending upon its environment. Dwarf Seahorses have been seen as black, yellow green or tan. Dwarf Seahorse can grow to a little over 2".
