Clingfish, Black
(Arcos rubiginosus)
Black Clingfish should be added to well established aquariums with plenty of rockwork, caves, cracks and crevices. They also prefer aquariums with high water flow and oxygen levels. Clingfish will use its special ventral fins to help them hold onto the rocks in high flow areas. Clingfish are small, peaceful and considered reef safe making them a great addition to home aquariums. Feed an enriched diet of meaty and algae based prepared foods multiple times daily. Provide an aquarium with a tight-fitting lid as they may jump. Black Clingfish are occasionally seen in the aquarium trade. The Black Clingfish is mainly brown to black with white spots. Black Clingfish can grow to almost 4”.
We recommend a minimum aquarium size of 30 gallons or larger for this species.
