Striped Shrimpfish
The Striped Shrimpfish is a fascinating marine species recognized for its slender, transparent body, vertical dark stripe, and unusual head-down swimming posture. It is a peaceful but delicate fish that does best in established aquariums of 50 gallons or larger, with stable water conditions, gentle water movement, and plenty of open swimming space. Shrimpfish are naturally social and should be kept in small groups of five or more whenever possible. They feed primarily on tiny zooplankton and other small crustaceans, so they require frequent feedings of appropriately sized live or Gamma frozen foods such as copepods, enriched baby brine shrimp, and other small planktonic foods. They are best housed with calm, noncompetitive tankmates and are not recommended for beginners due to their specialized feeding needs.
