The Solomon Islands is a country in the Pacific consisting of six major islands and nearly a thousand smaller ones. It lies east of Papua New Guinea, north of New Caledonia and northeast of Australia. It's a remote place, which makes it challenging to obtain quality livestock from the area. We here at Quality Marine place the utmost importance on supply chains, as we believe few things impact the health of fish and invertebrates more than this. After a many years’ hiatus, we are very proud to offer livestock from the Solomon Islands, some of which can only be found from this region.

Our initial shipments from the Solomon Islands features a wide array of stunning invertebrates, in addition to many favorite corals including:

Collecting, holding, shipping and importing live fish and invertebrates is complex. When a fisherman first catches a specimen, the supply chain begins, and it doesn't stop until that organism resides in a display, be it your living room, or a public aquarium. There are many models to how this journey transpires, but the vast majority of these animals are collected by indigenous, sustenance fisherman.

The less people who are involved in the process, the more control can be exerted on the supply chain. As a result, Quality Marine supports only the most sustainably managed collection sites and works directly with the collectors instead of middlemen whenever possible.

For decades we have diligently tracked the pathways our fish have taken and have gone to great lengths to reduce this journey's length, sometimes exponentially. These pathways are incredibly transparent and available to any vendor who sells our fish through our QR Code tags. If you're looking to stock your store and have been waiting for Solomon fish and inverts to come back, it is your lucky day! If you're an aquarist who just wants some of these amazing specimens, it's time to head to your LFS and ask them to contact Quality Marine today!
