Black Leopard Wrasse

The Black Leopard Wrasse is a striking and active marine species best suited for experienced aquarists with large, mature reef aquariums that provide ample swimming space, a sandy substrate for burrowing, and a tightly secured lid to prevent jumping. Known for its bold patterning and constant movement, this wrasse thrives in peaceful reef communities with other non-aggressive tankmates and benefits from a varied diet of meaty marine foods such as mysis shrimp, enriched Gamma frozen foods, and small marine fare. It requires stable water parameters, excellent oxygenation, and a well-established system with live rock to support natural foraging behavior. While hardy once acclimated, the Black Leopard Wrasse does best in stress-free environments where it can exhibit its natural hunting, burying, and active swimming behaviors.
