Moon Lighter Sea Chub

(Tilodon sexfasciatum)

Tilodon Sea Chubs should be added to well established aquariums with wide open swim areas. Sea Chubs will also require a sand bed where they can hunt for small crustaceans and algae. Provide a bit of rock work with caves, cracks or crevices for hiding. They are generally easy, peaceful and considered to be reef safe and will need to be housed with other peaceful fish. Sea Chubs are schooling fish and prefer to be housed in small groups. Feed a diet of meaty based foods fed multiple times daily.

Moon Lighter Sea Chub are also sometimes known simply as the Moonlighter or Sixbanded Coralfish. Not often seen in the aquarium trade. Moon Lighter Sea Chub are generally a white to gray color with 6 dark vertical stripes. Moon Lighter Sea Chub can grow to a little over 16".

We recommend a minimum aquarium size of 150 gallons or larger for this species.
