Flametail Blenny

(Enchelyurus flavipes)

Blennies in the genus Enchelyurus should be added to well established aquariums. Rock work should be provided for perching, hiding and grazing. Enchelyurus Blennies are considered to be easy and peaceful however, can become aggressive to other fish resembling their shape. If sufficient algae is not present supplement with algae based foods. Most Blennies lack or have very small swim bladders. Be sure to provide a tight fitting lid as Blennies in the Enchelyurus genus may jump. Be sure to provide an aquarium with a tight fitting lid as Blennies may jump.

The Yellowfin Blenny is also known as the Goldentail Combtooth Blenny. Uncommonly seen in the aquarium trade. Yellowfin Blennies are dark brown to black coloration with yellow anal, caudal, posterior portion of the dorsal fins. Yellowfin Blennies can grow to 4".

We recommend a minimum aquarium size of 30 gallons or larger for this species.
