Split Banded Goby

(Gymneleotris seminuda)

Add Gymneleotris Gobies to well established aquariums with plenty of rockwork, caves, cracks and crevices. Provide an aquarium with a deep sand bed as they will burrow into the sand at night and if feeling threatenedd. They are quite peaceful and will need to be housed with other peaceful tank mates. Gymneleotris Gobies are quite sensitive to poor water conditions ensure proper water quality. Provide a diet rich in meaty based foods multiple times daily. If not eating try feeding small live enriched shrimp or black worms to entice a feeding response. Gobies are jumpers be sure to provide a tight fitting lid.

Split Banded Goby are also sometimes known as Black and White or Striped Goby. Not often seen in the aquarium trade. Split Banded Goby have a brown head and body, thin white stripes and the base of the caudal fin has a white stripe. Split Banded Goby can grow to a slightlyly over 2".

We recommend a minimum aquarium size of 20 gallons or larger for this species.
