Warthead Blenny

(Protemblemaria bicirris)

Protemblemaria Blennies should be added to well established aquariums with rock work for perching, hiding and grazing. They can be a bit aggressive and territorial towards smaller, less aggressive tank mates. Protemblemaria Blennies are often found in shallow, sandy bottomed areas of rocky reefs. Protemblemaria Blennies like to inhabit empty barnacle shells and mollusk tubes. Provide a diet rich in meaty foods. Marked differences in color and size are seen in males and females. Protemblemaria Blennies may pick at small fish or crustaceans. Most Blennies lack or have very small swim bladders. Be sure to provide an aquarium with a tight fitting lid as Blennies may jump.
