Pomacanthus maculosus is commonly called the half moon or yellow banded angelfish. Quality Marine has both aquacultured and Red Sea wild collected specimens available. They are a resilient species not just in comparison to some of the other angels but as well as other marine ornamentals. With their proper needs met, they make excellent aquarium candidates, easily adjusting to captivity associating humans with food quickly. A properly balanced omnivore diet can bring out gorgeous colors in specimens. Juveniles are differently marked and colored than adults, with species not developing their trademark crescent until they mature. In comparison to another angel genus like Holocanthus, they are quite friendly and compatible with many other aquarium offerings.
