The Platinum Burmese Blythii Archerfish is a rare and striking freshwater-to-brackish species known for its silvery platinum coloration and distinctive archerfish behavior of shooting jets of water to knock insects from above the water’s surface. It is an active, predatory fish that requires a spacious, tightly covered aquarium of at least 125 gallons, with ample swimming room, excellent filtration, and stable water conditions. Although it can be maintained in freshwater, it may benefit from brackish conditions depending on its origin and long-term care requirements. Its diet should consist of insects, small crustaceans, and other meaty foods, including suitable frozen and prepared options. It is best housed with similarly sized, robust tankmates and should not be kept with small fish or invertebrates that may be viewed as food.
