Fancy Crowntail Bettas are vibrant, long-finned freshwater fish known for their spiky, crown-like finnage and bold personalities. They thrive in heated aquariums of at least 5 gallons, with stable temperatures between 76–82°F and gentle filtration to avoid damaging their delicate fins. A well-planted tank with hiding spots helps reduce stress, as these fish can be territorial—especially males, which should be housed alone. They are carnivorous and do best on a high-quality diet of betta pellets supplemented with frozen or live foods like bloodworms and brine shrimp. Regular water changes and calm tank conditions are essential, as their long fins make them more prone to injury and fin rot if water quality declines.
