Basketmouth Cichlid

The Basketmouth Cichlid is sought after by aquarists for its striking appearance and bold personality. Due to their large size and active nature, this species require a spacious aquarium with plenty of swimming room. Provide a well-decorated aquarium with plenty of hiding spots and territories to establish dominance. Use large rocks, driftwood, and caves to create suitable hiding places. A sandy substrate is ideal, as these fish may sift through the substrate in search of food. These Cichlids are omnivorous and will accept a variety of foods in the aquarium.
