Neon Kuhli Loach

The Neon Kuhli Loach is a small, eel-like freshwater loach valued for its vivid orange to reddish coloration accented by dark striping and its peaceful, nocturnal nature. Best kept in groups of six or more, Neon Kuhlis feel most secure in well-established aquariums of at least 20 gallons with a soft sand substrate that protects their delicate bodies and allows for natural burrowing behavior. These loaches are shy during daylight hours and appreciate dense planting, driftwood, caves, and leaf litter to provide cover. At feeding time, they become active and eagerly forage along the bottom for food.
