Ivantsoff's Blue Eye Rainbowfish
The Ivantsoff's Blue Eye Rainbowfish is a peaceful, colorful freshwater species ideal for medium to large community tanks. It thrives in well-planted aquariums with open swimming areas, with a minimum of 30–40 gallons for a small school of 6–8 individuals, as it is a social, schooling fish. Water should be clean, slightly alkaline, and well-oxygenated—temperature 74–80°F (23–27°C), pH 7.0–8.0, and moderate hardness. These rainbowfish are omnivorous, requiring a varied diet of high-quality flake or micro pellets, supplemented with frozen or live foods like brine shrimp, daphnia, and bloodworms to maintain their vibrant coloration. They are peaceful and best kept in groups, making them compatible with other similarly sized, non-aggressive fish, though small slow-moving fish may be outcompeted during feeding. Regular water changes, stable conditions, and plenty of swimming space are key to keeping Ivantsoff’s Blue Eye Rainbowfish healthy, colorful, and active in the aquarium.
