The aquacultured Heckel German Turquoise (Symphysodon aequifasciatus) is a discus jewel that no passerby will be able to miss and compliment its beauty. This is a large fish that at the moment measures about 6.5 inches. Due to its size, it needs a large tank for it to swim comfortably. You can include a few large drift wood pieces for it to seek refuge from the light. Also, it does well in a lightly planted aquarium. Like with other discus, it prefers warmer water, a low water flow, and that the water is maintained clean. Feed it a varied diet of frozen foods and discus specific foods for continued health.
