An ancient freshwater giant has been hiding beneath the Atlantic for 20,000 years

Scientists have confirmed the existence of a vast freshwater reserve hidden deep beneath the Atlantic Ocean floor off of the US East Coast. Although the ocean above appears entirely salty, advanced drilling and testing revealed an ancient body of freshwater sealed beneath layers of rock and sediment.
