Nutramar Live Microalgae
Nutramar is excited to announce the official launch of Nutramar Live Microalgae (phytoplankton) for corals, sponges, bivalves, feather dusters and other filter feeders. There are a total of six algae and algae blends available. Cultured in our state of the art Phytoplankton production labs in Los Angeles, California, these microalgae are the foundational food of any reef environment and the beginning of any aquatic food chain.
The end goal of most marine aquarists is to re-create an ocean bio-tope on a smaller scale in a captive environment, Nutramar Live Microalgae will support this by not only feeding your filter feeding invertebrates but it will also boost micro-crustacean populations such as Nutramar Tigrio Copepods. Our staff biologists have worked to make sure that our phytoplankton has the one of the highest concentrations of fatty acids, lipids as well as other nutritious proteins on the current market. Currently we have 6 flavors to meet all of your phytoplankton applications.
Nanno
Nutramar Live Microalgae Nanno is a green algae that contains high concentrations of the omega-3 fatty acid, EPA, as well as nutritious proteins, vitamins, and other phytonutrients necessary for the health of aquarium filter feeding inhabitants.
Rhodo
Nutramar Live Microalgae Rhodo is a red algae that contains high concentrations of the light harvesting protein, phycoerythrin, which gives it its unique characteristic red coloration. Rhodomonas is rich in the omega-3 fatty acid, EPA, as well as nutritious proteins, vitamins, and other phytonutrients
Iso
Nutramar Live Microalgae Iso is a golden colored algae that contains high concentrations of the omega-3 fatty acid, DHA, as well as nutritious proteins, vitamins, and other phytonutrients necessary for the health of aquarium filter feeding inhabitants. Commonly used for enriching rotifers and artemia nauplii prior to feeding to larval fish and other filter feeding organisms.
Phyto TC
Nutramar Live Microalgae Phyto TC is a blend of our Tetraselmis and Chaetoceros microalgae, which is specially formulated to provide the ideal proteins, fatty acids, and other phytonutrients to boost populations of our Nutramar Tigrio copepods.
Phyto IC
Nutramar Live Microalgae Phyto IC is a blend of our Isochrysis and Chaetoceros microalgae. Specially formulated to combine the omega-3 fatty acid DHA of Isochrysis with the omega-3 fatty acid EPA of Chaetoceros for a balanced diet.
Phyto CRIT
Nutramar Live Microalgae Phyto CRIT is a blend of our most popular microalgae and is specially formulated to provide the broadest range in cell size as well as content of omega-3s, proteins, vitamins, and other phytonutrients vital to a healthy aquarium ecosystem. Each pouch contains Chaetoceros, Rhodmonas, Isochrysis, and Tetraselmis. This is the ideal blend to target the widest range of filter feeding organisms.
