Bob's Picks

This was another great week here at Quality Marine as we received an excellent shipment of fish from the Cook Islands. The Scotts Velvet Wrasse (Cirrhilabrus scottorum) from this part of the world displays a color variation that appears to be unique compared with the color variations seen from other regions. They are one of our favorites here and have to be seen to be appreciated. These would make a stunning addition to the collection of any Cirrhilabrus afficionado.

Be sure to check out the Quality Marine Facebook page to view some photos of the Narcosis Angel we were fortunate enough to get our hands on. It was the first of its kind to ever be imported into the United States. This fish was featured on , so check them out to get more of the lowdown on this rarity and more details about how it was collected. Stay tuned as we hope to see more gems trickle in from this outpost in the South Pacific.

There was also quite the buzz around here last week as we received the first shipment from a new supply line of Red Sea fish. Many of the species we received have not been widely available for quite some time and have only increased the scope of our already hugely diverse offering of superbly maintained specimens. A few items of note would be the Red Sea Raccoon Butterflyfish (Chaetodon fasciatus), Red Sea Pearlscale Butterflyfish(Chaetodon paucifasciatus), and a mix of the wild Dottybacks that hail from this region. Look for even more species to become available in the near future! As always we are on the lookout for new lines of supply in order to provide our loyal clientele with the most dizzying array of marine specimens available at any one time. Be sure to check back often as our real-time inventory will give you the lowdown at any time of the day.

Early this week we got in a terrific shipment of Purple Tangs (Zebrasoma xanthurum). These guys are beautifully colored, eating well, and we have a killer selection of sizes including some XL specimens. Get them while you can.

On the more limited front, we have a few Female Watanabei Angels (Genicanthus watanabei) in a small size that we rarely see. They are half the size of the usual Wantanabeis. All of them are eating our frozen mix like champs.

We have a great selection of Aquacultured Black Ocellaris (Amphiprion ocellaris) in stock. These are as tame as a puppy. We also have our usual outstanding stock of other cultured clowns in stock, so ask your sales rep about them.

Staying with cultured stuff, we have a few Aquacultured Sexy Dancer Shrimp (Thor amboinensis) left. These are really cool little shrimp, we have them hosting in an anemone and they are loving it.

The Metallic Green Star Polyps (Briareum or Pachyclavularia) that are here right now are really vividly colored. This is a fast spreading, very tolerant coral and we have really good selection of them right now.

Lastly there is a limited number of amazingly colored Favia Brain Coral Colonies (Favia sp). There aren't many, and they look great so ask your sales rep about them.
