Bob's Picks

So far this has been a great summer in the terms of overall supply and diversity of species. This is especially noteworthy as we are in the midst of Ramadan, which traditionally has a major impact on the flow of marine specimens. The peak of this impact usually happens during the celebration of Eid al Fitr (which happens on Wed, August 7th this year) and though this holiday marks the end of Ramadan, supply can still be impacted for a couple weeks afterwards.

Were doing our best here to keep both the variety and quality up regardless of season and holidays. We are able to lessen the impact by utilizing all of the stations available to us because of literally decades of work, finding new supply lines to add to our worldwide distribution of current partners. Maintaining a regular, consistent shipment schedule with these valued suppliers gives us the flexibility we need when any hiccups are encountered in other regions of the world.

Speaking of diversity of species be sure to check out our Facebook page, we have some really cool pics to share with you!

Last week we got in some very nice aquacultured chalices on our WYSIWYG, but we also got some amazing Aquacultured Hollywood Stunner Chalices (Echinopora sp.) on our regular stocklist that are jaw droppers.

It's that time of year for Juvenile Garibaldi Damsels (Hypsypops rubicunda) and we have an excellent stock of blaze orange ones with prominent electric blue spots.

Our Caribbean SSC has sent us a nice batch of Arrow Crabs (Stenorhynchus seticornis) these are in great condition, wearing their stripey tuxedo best and are an excellent size. These are money well spent.

One of our South Pacific Short Supply Chains sent us some very cool Orange Spotted Blenny (Blenniella chrysospilos). This is a neat fish that we don't see quite as often as we should. Great personalities, big eaters.

We have a just killer selection of Orange and Green Zoanthid Rocks (Zoanthid sp) from our central Pacific Short Supply Chain. There is a great variety of zo's on the rocks, some Green Dragon Eye, some Green Bay Packers, some BamBams, some Eagle Eyes, it all depends on the rock you get, but they are all nice.

From our Short Supply Chain in Fiji, we have a limited supply of some of the nicest MAC Firefish Gobies (Nemateleotris magnifica). You will pay a little more for an SSC MAC Firefish Goby, but they are absolutely gorgeous and in terrific shape.
