The Picks

Earlier this week, President Obama announced the creation of the world's largest marine sanctuary. It encompasses five US controlled Island and Atolls in the Central Pacific. Effectively, this is an expansion of three of the already existing protected areas. Previously the areas protected were 50 miles off shore of the islands, are being expanded to 200 miles off shore. The total protected area will now be roughly 3x the size of the State of California. Commercial fishing, dumping and mining will be off limits in the preserve. Recreational fishing and boating will still be allowed. QM sources none of our stock from these areas.
