Quality Marine is Coming to Superzoo 2016 with Some Very Special Guests! The Superzoo Conference is around the corner, and we can hardly hold back our excitement for the VIPs well be bringing along this year the first ever fully aquacultured Yellow Tangs and Yasha Gobies!

The successful captive breeding of the Yellow Tang (Zebrasoma flavescens) by The Rising Tide Initiative and Hawaiis Oceanic Institute was a monumental breakthrough for our industry, and were thrilled to see them become just as vibrant and robust as their wild-caught counterparts. As we continue to support aquaculture efforts and reef rehabilitation around the world, like Rising Tide and the Coral Restoration Foundation, its incredibly encouraging to have had such a success story with this iconic species.

As 2015 proved to be a fruitful year for groundbreaking aquaculture accomplishments, it seems to have only built momentum for 2016. The ceaseless efforts of Rising Tide, this time in collaboration with the talented team of the Roger Williams University Marine Ornamental Program, brought us yet another first - the charismatic and ever popular Yasha Goby (Stonogobiops yasha). While not listed as threatened or endangered, this is a relative newcomer to the trade, and as demand and desirability continues to grow, supplying a captive bred alternative relieves pressure off of the wild population.

As we also appreciate the stunning natural aesthetic of planted aquariums, were very much looking forward to seeing the beautiful displays from Tropica! Their line of 100% tissue-cultured plants, 1-2-Grow!, showcases over forty species of mosses, ferns, liverworts and flowering plants from around the world. Cultivated directly in Tropicas state-of the-art laboratory in Denmark, this form of micropropagation ensures the plants are completely free of pesticides, snails and algae. Aquatropic, our freshwater sister company, now carries 1-2-Grow! plants, and we love them! Unique, easy to read packaging houses the sturdy microplants for hobbyists at any level. Want to get some inspiration? Tropica is extremely pleased to introduce Mr. Adrie Baumann, one of the top European aquascapers and the master behind Tropicas amazing Trilogy display tanks at Interzoo in Germany.

Come see the gorgeous, history-making Yellow Tangs and Yasha Gobies along with even more of our aquacultured livestock at Booth 4213, where well be with Aquatropic, Benepets, and V20 Foods!
