Odontanthias borbonius is a deepwater anthias species, that range from depths of 300 down to the 1000 feet or more. They have several common names including "Checked Swallowtail,"Yellow Spotted," and "Blotched" Anthias. They are spread throughout the tropical Indian and Pacific Oceans.
