Photo of the Week - Thalassoma duperrey

Thalassoma duperrey are most frequently found in lagoons and seaward reefs over coral reefs or rubble fields. In the wild they feed mostly on benthic animals, though in captivity they will readily accept a variety of prepared foods. Juveniles have been known to sometimes act as cleaners. Interestingly, they reportedly use multiple spawning mechanisms, both as pairs and in aggregates.
