Photo of the Week - Striped Trigger (Xanthichthys lineopunctatus)
As soon as we saw the Striped Trigger (Xanthichthys lineopunctatus) in our facility we couldn't contain our excitement that we shared photos of it on our social media pages first. This trigger is a known rare wild beauty with a somewhat peaceful temperament and moderate husbandry needs. This is a large fish that needs a large tank with enough room to swim. In the tank include on the bottom a sandy substrate with a few large decorative rocks to provide it with places to hide from the light. Furthermore, it is considered a reef safe fish, but exercise caution if it will be added to one. After all, this is a trigger fish and there is a possibility it may make some inverts its next meal. Keep it in optimal health by feeding it meaty frozen foods.
