Photo of the Week - Cryptocentrus fasciatus

Cryptocentrus fasciatus is a burrowing goby that will share burrows with pistol shrimp. They are hardy and easy to keep. These are a great example of what I like to call LED fish. While under some other lighting situations they can appear somewhat drab, LEDs bring out the electric blues that make this fish so cool. Getting them to eat generally takes a few episodes of target feeding, after which they'll start to recognize you as a food source and come right out of their burrow.
