Photo of the Week - Bodianus perditio

The Banana Tusk Hogfish can be found throughout the Indian and Pacific Oceans, usually around reefs and drop offs. With a max recorded size of 30 inches in the wild, these are frequently pursued as gamefish, and in many parts of the world are a highly sought food fish.

The home aquarist should supply with a large fish tank, with other fairly aggressive fish. Be aware that hogfish will usually eat most anything they can fit in their mouths, so don't house with small ornamental crustaceans or small fish. Other than that this is a hardy beautiful addition to most large FOWLR aquariums.
