Photo of the Week - Antennarius maculatus

Antennarius maculatus is more commonly known as the Wartskin Angler or the Warty Frogfish. They can be found all over the Western Pacific and Indian Oceans, inhabiting rocky reef areas, frequently in shallow water. They reach a max size of about 6 inches, but are most commonly found in the 2" - 4" range. As an interesting side note, the juveniles resemble nudibranchs for a short period.
