Photo of the Week - Abdopus aculteatus

Abdopus aculteatus is a relatively small species as cephalopods go. Also known as "Algae Octopus" they rarely get bigger than about a foot across (maximum tentacle span). They readily take food in captivity and are known for being active during the daylight. This specific animal is destined for the Monterey Bay Aquarium.
