Photo Of The Week - Brown-Banded Butterfly (Roa modesta)
The Brown-Banded Butterfly is without a doubt an elegant fish that is worth every bit of attention it gets from hobbyists. They are one of the more common butterfly from the Roa genus that is seen in the industry. But we don't often get to see this beauty because they are found in deep reef waters, which is difficult for fishermen to get to. So when we do get to see it, we are in absolute awe of it. Provide plenty of hiding places for this butterfly since they can be shy. Since they are a deep water species, lower flow and lighting is ideal. These are not recommended for reef aquariums because they are known for making a meal out of corals.
